Take one of the local walks: by the estuary to the old wharf and bar entrance, around the Whananaki sand spit, to the DOC headland reserve, stroll across the footbridge to Whananaki South beach or just walk down the road to beautiful Otamure Bay.
We are 40mins north of Whangarei, 5 minutes to the local general store (no fuel).
