This clean, cozy, coastal home is the next best thing to oceanfront-- Less than 2 blocks to a semi-private beach, this house has backyard palm trees, heated pool with pool house, outdoor shower, AND the intracoastal river, indoor/outdoor dining & bar at Cap's, Reef, or Kate’s. Wi-fi, Sat TV, kids' books, games, and more!
This neighborhood is not for a rowdy bunch. This is the quieter side of St. Augustine!
We have Three Bedrooms-- 1 King, 1 Queen, and 1 Bedroom with a choice of 4 beds: a Full with hideaway Twin Trundle underneath and a Twin with hideaway Twin Trundle underneath. We also have a pull out queen sofa bed in the living room. All bedrooms have satellite tv. The main TV is wired with internet for access to your Hulu, NetFlix, Amazon, or other multi-media accounts.
The house has several gathering spaces. The main living room area, an eat-in sunroom, outdoor poolside seating, and a separate pool house with cabana seating area.
We provide kitchen supplies, a charcoal grill, satellite tv, internet, stereo, BluRay DVD player with a few movies, games, books, outdoor shower, beach cart, a few beach towels, and a hair dryer.
For the little ones, we have a portable crib, stroller, a few pool/beach items, toys/books/games, and a baby/pet gate with a fenced-in back yard. Master bedroom has a bathtub.
Guests have access to the whole house with the exception of the owner's storage room.
We ask that guests keep outdoor noise to a minimum, especially after 9pm. While there are some vacationers in the neighborhood, local ordinances still require this and some neighbors have to work/school in the morning!
You must report any pets staying with you. The pet fee is $150. It will be added to the VRBO quote.
Stay at your own risk. Owners are not liable for pool use or other aspects of the home. The pool has no stairs, only a ladder.
Please report damages, missing pieces, or broken items upon arrival. We aim for five stars with each guest and appreciate the opportunity to remedy problems as soon as they arise.
The house is located two blocks from the beach in the sleepy St. Augustine neighborhood of Vilano/North Beach on an unnamed island, known for both sunrises and sunsets (due to our island location). Vilano Beach is also home to nationally renown skim-boarding waters, the area's best surfing (high tide) and family beach spots (low-tide). The beach is clean. The water is clear.
The house is near the Reef, Aunt Kate’s, and Cap's on the Water, three locally renowned restaurants that draw visitors to the island for gorgeous views, sunsets, delicious local cuisine, and great wine/beverages. Look up these old Florida classics on the web!
We have a great little beach shop nearby at North Beach Camp Resort that has basics, including food and beverages. We are about a mile from Serenata Beach Club on the ocean.
About 2 miles away, Vilano Beach Town Center has a half-dozen yummy restaurants, including a waterfront beach bar with a huge menu, grocery store, beach store, liquor store, nail salon, dry cleaners, etc. It is host to annual events like the Sunset Celebration and Skimboard Tournament.
If you plan to hang mostly by the beach, you can easily catch a cab or ride-sharing service to downtown Vilano Beach and St. Augustine when needed, or even take a water taxi many places, when available.
Having a car is your best bet for frequent trips to town or beyond. Uber / Lyft is not reliable to the airport. Schedule a shuttle or a taxi.
We ask guests to take good care of our home while staying.
Please return furniture and housewares to their original positions. Please report your damages immediately.
Extra cleaning is $75/hour. There is a pet fee of $100 and a lost key fee of $125. Please notify us of all pets upon booking. We reserve the right to evict without refund for undisclosed guests or pets.
If you use the grill, scrub the grates and dump the cooled ashes. Our cleaners don't do grills.
If you use the beach towels, please wash and dry these the night before you check-out. This allows us to maintain our check-in/out times. Bonus points for guests who wash and dry additional towels or linens! The cleaners will spend more time cleaning:)
Non-standard cleaning (grills, excessive pet hair, damage to walls, washing beach towels, etc.) will incur additional cleaning fees usually of about $75/hour.
Trash not set out on Trash Day (Thursday night) or left in the house or left outside trash bins will incur a $25/bag convenience fee for cleaners to take to local dump for disposal.
Broken/missing items will incur replacement and procurement fees.
County ordinances require adherence to several occupancy standards. There is a maximum of 10 people older than 12 years old. The vehicle/trailer maximum is 5, as long as all vehicles fit in our driveway. Street parking is strictly prohibited.
Guests must comply with the local noise ordinance (Ord. 2015-19), which restricts loud noises and forbids them between 10pm and 7am.
We reserve the right to inspect our home. Local laws require all vacation rental guests in this county to allow reasonable inspection to assure compliance. The county also requires an agreement to comply with the Short-Term Vacation Rental Standards, Section 2.02.04.B.19 and all other applicable federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. Most of these may be found online.
Before you leave- gather used towels, throw trash away, turn things off, and return keys.
