WELCOME to my Vermont house! The home is located in Wardsboro, a charming small country town that is very close to several popular ski resorts. The house is less than six miles from Mount Snow Ski Resort and 7.5 miles to Stratton Mountain. I want you to enjoy your time at my house and strive to provide all my guests with an exceptional five-star stay. An interesting fact about our family. My brother, Patrick was a co-host on the popular DIY TV show, "Backyard Goldmines".
Linens, towels, coffee, hot chocolate, creamers, and paper goods always provided at no extra charge. With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a washer/dryer, this is a very spacious home that includes everything for your entire group. The living room has a 50" TV with internet. The kitchen is fully stocked with supplies and well equipped for entertaining. The housed is heated using a wood-burning pellet stove. (During your stay, you will be required to fill the hopper as needed for heat. Instructions are provided, and it is a VERY easy process.) There is a smart tv in the master bedroom upstairs, and the children's bedroom has a TV/DVD player with numerous movie options.
You are sure to enjoy your Vermont experience in this newly renovated historic riverside home. The scenic view of trees and the sound of the river can be enjoyed from the private balcony. The house can hold up to 10-12 guests when using the pull-out sleeper sofa and futon. This home is family and pet-friendly.
For my wintertime guest: No need for four-wheel drive or snow tires during snow season. House location is on the main road (Route 100). This road is always plowed first by the county during any snowstorm. Makes for easy access to and from the local ski resorts and never having to waste valuable "ski" time waiting for the roads to be cleared. Remember, many of Vermont's vacation homes are located on dirt roads. Most times, these roadways require waiting for a local resident or owner to plow them. The driveway is onsite, and It holds up to THREE cars. There is a small hill on the side of the house for kids of all ages to sled down. Manchester area is about 35-45 minutes away for those who don't wish to ski. This area has numerous places for outlet shopping and fine dining. The Dover area has several very nice restaurants too.
For my Summertime guest, the Wardsboro river runs through the back yard. A perfect place to play and splash in the water. Enjoy evening camp fires while watching the fireflies light the night. The Grout pond is a few miles away. Perfect for kayaking and canoeing. There are plenty of trails for hiking and cycling too. Jamaica State Park boasts a great trail for biking. We have one A/C unit in the living room.
We have an Alexa Echo that can answer basic house related questions. After full payment is made, I will forward the access code for Heyer House. Once inside the house, you will find the instructions to access Alexa.
Upon checkout, all guests are required to strip their used linens and place them next to the washing machine. Also, fill the hopper in the pellet stove and do not leave dirty dishes in the sink. All dishes, glasses, cups, utensils, etc. are to be placed in the dishwasher.
When I accept your reservation, I will reply. It is imperative you read the attachment I send. It includes the front door access code. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOUR ARRIVAL DATE AND TIME TO CALL ME AND ASK HOW TO ENTER THE PROPERTY. Doing this a horrible idea. Once you are in VT, you have minimal (if any) cell phone or WiFi coverage. Also, I work and attend college. There is a possibility I will miss your phone call or text message. All potential guests need to understand the internet and cell phone coverage is limited in the ENTIRE area (NOT just my home). I do pay extra for the “fastest” speed. If the internet stops working; I will place a call for a technician to come out. After this, there is nothing else I can do. WiFi and cell coverage are not 100 percent reliable in the ENTIRE area. Also, the exterior is monitored with a security camera.
