45 minutes from Kawhia and 1 hour 45 minutes from Raglan, this self contained studio apartment in the village of Te Waitere, enjoys 270 degree water views from the property, overlooking the picturesque Kawhia inner harbour and surrounding hills.
We are situated in a small peaceful village, just 100m away from an all-tide boat ramp and the Te Waitere Boat Club, which serves meals and drinks on Friday evenings to members and casual visitors.
We are a 45 minute drive away from Kawhia (about 7kms by boat) and an hour away from Waitomo and its world famous Glowworm Caves. Halfway to Waitomo you will find the Marokopa Falls and Mangapohue Natural Bridge.
Just over an hour away is Otorohanga, famous for its 'Kiwiana' and home to the Otorohanga Kiwi House and Native Bird Park.
The Studio sleeps 2, has its own private entrance and features a comfortable queen bed, en-suite shower room, flat screen TV with Freeview channels/DVD player and kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee machine and grinder (bring your own beans) and electric fry pan, as well as a few essentials for a short stay - tea, coffee, sugar, milk, salt & pepper, oil.
Cleaning, bed linen and towels are included in our rates and in return we ask that the property is left tidy and in good order. We also ask that guests please remove all rubbish when you leave and take it away with you. We can make alternative arrangements for overseas guests on request.
Also provided at the property you will find bathroom essentials - toilet rolls, hand soap, hand sanitiser, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and a hairdryer.
The Studio is the perfect escape for a person or couple who want to get away from it all - to enjoy the peace and quiet, unwind and recharge those batteries. Relax on the sheltered and shady deck, read a book or just watch the tides and boats come and go while listening to the birdsong; sit under the pergola in the garden and enjoy the estuary and mountain views or if you are feeling more energetic try fishing off the nearby jetty, or explore the inner harbour beaches and rock formations by boat.
Please be aware: The Studio is relatively remote, with the nearest general store about 30 minutes away (Oparau Roadhouse General Store) for food/supplies so do come prepared (or at least bring a fishing rod to catch your own supper!)
There is no wifi/broadband internet provided at the property, but the area has generally very good mobile 3G/4G coverage.
Smoking is permitted outside only please.
There is no capacity for any extra beds in The Studio so we can only accommodate a maximum of 2 guests.
We live part time in the house above, but chances are you will have the property to yourselves during your stay so you can enjoy the views from the garden and decks in total privacy and peace.
