1 Bedroom Cabin in Fairbanks North Star Borough, Fairbanks
This property is off the grid and about 1/4 mile off the road. There is plenty of parking and the property is a short walk away. A 4-wheeler with a cargo trailer may be available at the cabin for hauling gear, ask the owner. Chena Hot Springs resort is 1/2 mile from the cabin parking lot, and can be accessed by car or foot on a scenic trail along Monument Creek. There are two cabins on the property. The main one (12 X 20) is on the creek and has an 8 X 8 screened porch off the kitchen and has a gas grill, an 8 X 12 sleeping loft with a queen bed, and a queen futon couch in the living area. Cabin includes full kitchen with a pitcher pump. Please bring block ice for the ice box in the summer months., there is also a small propane refrigerator on the porch in the summer.
The cabin is heated with a wood stove ( plenty of fir e wood is provided), and a propane heater. There is also an outdoor fire pit by the creek. Bathroom facilities are a clean outhouse. Both cabins are wired for electricity and powered by two generators; the small one will run lights and chargers, and the big one will run anything else you might need.
.The guest cabin is 8 X 12 with propane heat and a 2-burner Coleman stove. The bed is a single that pulls out to a queen.
There are lots of trails in the area for hiking, skiing, 4-wheeling and snow machining. The Yukon Quest trail is 1/2 mile before the parking area and guests can walk on a trail parallel to the road. Fishing in the area is catch and release only. If you come in the winter you should have a 4wd equipped with an auto start as there are no plug ins.
